We’ve All Been Branded Magazine
A two-page editorial spread on coffee culture, a topic I picked myself since I love turning trivial rituals into something worth reading closely, styled after curiosity magazines like Wired and Superinteressante. The typography carries the argument: headings, pull quotes, and sidebars turn dense text into something layered, refined down to the leading and letterspacing.
Every text element ran through a named style, BodyText, Caption, Quote, Subhead, built once and applied everywhere instead of formatted by hand page to page. This is the unglamorous half of editorial design: structure work that never shows up in the final spread, only in how consistent it feels.
One image AI-generated, one built up in Photoshop from a source photo until it fit the spread on its own terms. Neither started as final material (challenges of stock imagery), both got reworked until they read as one consistent world. The annotated Word document alongside them shows where the actual editorial thinking started, long before layout.
